INFORMATION

Walter Frederick Goswell enlisted with the 12th Reinforcements, 2nd Battalion AIF on the 30th September 1915. Walter was serving with the 38th Infantry prior to his enlistment.

 

Family Information

Walter was a single 18 year old Shop Boy who worked at the Locomotive Works at Eveleigh, N.S.W and lived at "Orvieio" Wickham Street, Arncliffe.

His parents Walter and Charlotte Goswell were married on the 24th September at Waverley, N.S.W. and had 6 children. lottie Louise Goswell (1895-1963) Walter Frederick Goswell (1897-1950) Percy Baden Goswell (1900-1979) Henry George Goswell (1902-1963) Harold Arthur Goswell (1905-1973) Bessie Ilma Goswell (1908-1981)

Walter Frederick Goswell snr served with the NSW St George Rifles with the rank of Sergeant and died at the Garrison Hospital at Victoria Barracks on the 12th October 1919.
